How to Restore a Database Backup
Before restoring a backup, make sure the target database already exists.
Using DirectAdmin
- Navigate to Account Manager --> MySQL Management.
- Select the database.
- Click
Manage. - Scroll down and click
Import. - Select the backup file from your device.
Using AXFilePro
- Upload or locate the SQL backup file using AXFilePro.
- Right-click the file.
- Select
Import Into Database. - Choose the target database and start the import.
This method also allows you to modify the database user and password during the restoration process.
Important: Restoring a backup may overwrite existing data. Always create a backup before importing data into a database that already contains information.
