Does Transferring a Domain Remove Remaining Registration Time?

No. When a domain is transferred and renewed, one additional year is added to the current expiration date.

Your remaining registration time is preserved, and the new payment simply extends the registration period by another year.

Note: Domain registrations are limited to a maximum of 10 years. For example, if your domain has 1 year remaining, you can renew it for up to 9 additional years.
